Digital Literacy 2024 - 2025

What is digital literacy?

The skills and knowledge required to be an effective, safe, and discerning user of a range of computer systems.

Our computing curriculum at Boundary Primary School helps pupils to become digitally literate – able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology – at a level suitable for the future workplace and as active participants in a digital world. Through other areas of the curriculum, pupils are given the opportunity to develop these skills in the ways they learn and the ways that they present what they have learned during lessons and at home.

“Digital technology is driving extraordinary global changes, so it’s crucial that children and young people are educated to make use of their opportunities.”

“Computing is rich in complex knowledge, which can make it interesting for pupils to learn. Yet it is also hard to teach well.”
