Admission to Nursery
September
Boundary Primary School Nursery is a maintained Nursery class for 3 and 4 year-olds. We can accommodate 26 places in each session (Morning or Afternoon). Your child automatically qualifies for a free 15 hours place the term after their 3rd birthday and generally intakes will commence at the start of Autumn, Spring and Summer terms.
Children attend five morning sessions a week (8:40am – 11:40am) or five afternoon session per week (12:25pm – 3:25pm)
We can also offer 30 hours free childcare to working families if they are eligible. To apply for 3 and 4 year-old extended free entitlement please visit childcarechoices.gov.uk. Once you have completed the eligibility checking system (HMRC) for the 3 and 4 year-old extended free entitlement, you will be given an Eligibility Reference Number. You will need to provide the school office with this number to confirm entitlement.
Those who are eligible to 30 hours free childcare attend from 8:40 am until 3:25pm. This includes 30 hours free childcare plus a £5.00 per day charge to cover additional extended hours and a school meal (£2.00 per meal) payable in advance. If your child is eligible for free school meals or you would prefer your child to bring their own packed lunch then the additional extended hours’ cost will be £3.00 per day, payable in advance.
We also offer a Breakfast and Afterschool Club known as Creative Kids Club. Please let the office know one week in advance if you wish to book your child into Creative Kids Club. The cost is £3.00 per day for Breakfast Club and £6.50 per day for Afterschool Club. Breakfast Club – Monday to Friday 8:00am-8.45am (morning children only). After School Club 3.30pm-5.30pm (afternoon children only). Full time (30 hours) children are able to attend either Breakfast Club or After School Club, or both.
In order to meet the needs of our school community, we have set the maximum number of 30 hours of places available to 10. If all 10 places are not filled we will offer places to those needing 15-hour places.
In the event of oversubscription applications for places will be based on the following admission criteria:
- Children in public care (looked after children) or those children at risk of becoming looked after
- Children with Education, Health and Care Plans and those with exceptional SEN reasons for attending a particular school/setting
- Exceptional medical, social, welfare reasons (associated with the child and/or the family) for attending a particular school/setting
- Children who will have a sibling in attendance at the time of their admission
- Those living nearest the school/setting (straight line measure home address to setting)
