Arts Mark 2024 - 2025
What is the Arts Mark?
The Artsmark Award is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England. They support settings to develop and celebrate their commitment to arts and cultural education for all children and young people. Their flexible framework helps embed arts, culture and creativity to support broad and ambitious curriculum and strengthen pupil voice.
The Arts are firmly at the heart of Boundary Primary School and are valued by staff, children and parents. The teaching of Music, Art, Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre are taught in ways accessible to all and enable the development of their natural talents.
We have worked hard to incorporate the Arts Mark quality principles in our teaching and believe that they are a fundamental part of our pupil’s education.
How will the Arts Mark impact the children of Boundary Primary School?
Culture & Diversity Development is at the heart of the curriculum for the children at Boundary Primary School. We are focused on the development of the children’s character as well as their academic achievement; tolerant, understanding, well rounded, resilient, imaginative and creative pupils are what we strive to encompass through our continued engagement with arts and culture education.
Our future developments for Boundary are to authentically and actively involve the children in the development of the Arts through a representative Pupil Arts Council, who will begin to organise and choose cultural experiences for their peers.
The British Arts Mark Council had this to say about Boundary's work:
‘It is wonderful to read of the commitment of Boundary Primary to the value of the Arts, particularly to a school population that would otherwise be largely deprived of such experiences and opportunities.’
‘You have maintained your progress through lockdown and have been resourceful in developing a digital arts offer.’
