There is no such thing as a Gruffalo!

Lesson: Art and design

This week we read the story ‘The Gruffalo in Reception.  We talked about the different animals we might meet if we went for a walk in the woods and had fun role playing in our own Gruffalo cafe taking orders and eating weird and wonderful Gruffalo food.  The children have been busy working at the creative table painting Gruffalos making models from play dough and recycled materials.  The children had to think very carefully about the different colours they used for the ‘purple prickles’ and ‘orange eyes’.  The children worked hard labelling pictures with the initial sound and writing lists of the Gruffalos favourite food.
