Geometry with Geo-boards!

This week, Year Two have been investigating the properties of 2-D shapes. We have been comparing 2-D shapes and counting sides and vertices to classify shapes. We had great fun using an interactive geo-board to create a range of 2-D shapes. We made triangles, squares, rectangles, pentagons and hexagons. We found out about regular and irregular shapes and we were challenged to make as many different triangles, pentagons and hexagons as we could. We learnt that the same shape can be made in lots of different ways and to classify a 2-D shape we need to count its sides or vertices.
