Year 6 Getting to know the local area

Year 6 began their new unit in Geography today, which will focus on our local area of Blackpool. We started by recapping on the eight points of the compass and talked about the fact that Blackpool is in the North West of England. We looked at the location of Blackpool on a World map in the playground and then in an atlas. We located the surrounding towns and began to discuss the physical and human geographical features in the surrounding area.
