Whole School Art Day 2018

The children right across the school from Nursery to Year 6 took part in the whole school Art Day. The theme for the art Day was the drawing of shells, which fits in well with the theme of Blackpool and our heritage.

All the children started off by learning how to shade using a variety of different grades of pencils. Part of this learning journey took them on to learn how to add depth to their drawings by adding tone to create a three-dimensional look.

Across the school, they started off by practising the different shades of tones, then going on to add depth to make an object look three-dimensional. Once the children had developed these two skills they then went on to do some observational drawings of shells. Incorporating all the skills that they had learnt previously in the day, they then applied these to add detail, depth and tone to bring the shells to life.
