Heritage Day 2019
As a school we celebrated Heritage Day. This was an exciting opportunity for children from Reception all the way to Year 6 to look at the history of Blackpool – after all, the tower is part of our school logo!
Each Year group was given a key question to focus their research and enquiries. From ‘How Have Blackpool Trams Changed Over Time’ to ‘How Was Blackpool Affected by World War One’, children spent the day using a range of resources (and Year 4 even went to Stanley Park!) to develop their knowledge and understanding of our heritage.
Children finished the day in a whole school assembly where they presented their findings. A lot of us learnt things about Blackpool that we did not know before, so ask your child what they learnt and you might just come across a fact that you didn’t know either!
