Phonics

Learn the sound ‘er’ with Geraldine. Click here for Geraldine’s video. Can you find any objects around your home that have the ‘er’ sound in. Can you think of any other words which have the ‘ere’ sound? Write them in your book or voice record them on seesaw.

Log in to your seesaw and complete the Geraldine phonics challenge activity.

Writing / Geography.

William Whiskerson has gone on a day trip. Watch his video diary here

Can your write at least four sentences in your busy book about William day trip. You might write about where he went, what he saw, how he travelled and if you would like to visit there too. Remember your capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Can you remember any fun facts about London that we discovered in school? Log into seesaw and complete the All about London Fun Fact challenge.

Maths- reading and writing numbers from 1 to 20 in words and numbers.

Can you make your own pair game to play with a family member?Make 1-20 number cards and one to twenty word cards using paper.Have a go at matching up the numbers and words. Play the memory game, by turning all your cards face down and taking it in turns to pick 2 cards. If the number and word matches, you get to keep both cards. The winner is the person with the most pairs at the end. Take a photo and share it on seesaw. Log onto seesaw for maths challenges.

Reading

Log in to oxford owls and read one of your books. Record yourself on seesaw telling us what you did or did not like about the book and why.

Parents you can log onto Oxford Owl and create an account – it is free. Then search for E books, and choose phonics level 2, 3 or 5 depending on you child. Your child’s phonics level is also in the letter information pack you received.

 A story will also be read by Mrs Hopwood at 2.30pm on seesaw, but first you need to log in and vote for which story you would like.

Chosen afternoon activity

Choose your own activity from the list and complete it in your busy book. Feel free to send us any pictures on seesaw of your learning.

In addition to the above, we are also adding daily challenge tasks to seesaw which I know a lot of you are enjoying completing. We love seeing your videos, pictures and completed work – Please keep sending them to us J Completing any work on Seesaw allows us to provide feedback on how you have done and give possible next steps. This is working really well. If you have any questions about anything at all you can contact us through our class email address or through seesaw. All this information is in your home learning letter too.
